Tom Jenkins
Tom Jenkins was promoted to Senior Vice President, Investigations in September 2024. He joined IRI in 2022 working out of the London office before moving to the Long Beach office as a Marine Investigator. Prior to joining IRI, Mr. Jenkins was a Deputy Director and Head of Casualty and Investigations for the Bahamas Maritime Authority responsible for the global implementation and delivery of marine investigations. Between 2014 – 2016, he represented The Commonwealth of the Bahamas at the International Maritime Organization, championing maritime safety and environmental protection, and developing technical policies and maritime legislation. From 2001 – 2014, Mr. Jenkins was a commissioned officer in His Majesty’s Royal Navy serving as a warfare officer leading and managing specialist teams in challenging operational environments across the globe. He represented the United Kingdom (UK) defense engagement as a Military Advisor working with the United Nations, European Union, and North Atlantic Treaty Organization allies on operations across the Middle East and Africa to strengthen maritime trade, security, and safety within the regions. Mr. Jenkins has over ten years of shipboard experience culminating in Command as Captain of two Royal Naval warships. He is a graduate of Britannia Royal Naval College, an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute, and a former Freeman of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners.
