The first Maritime Services Group (MSG) of 2025 was held in Fort Lauderdale in late February. IRI President Bill Gallagher, Chief Commercial Officer Theo Xenakoudis, and Chief Maritime Officer Simon Bonnett opened the meeting with remarks and updates on the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Registry. The three-day hybrid meeting included presentations on the fleet, as well as updates from regional offices and departments. Representatives from Baltimore / Annapolis, Fort Lauderdale, Geneva, Hong Kong, Houston, Istanbul, London, Long Beach, Majuro, Mumbai, Piraeus, Reston, Rio de Janeiro, Roosendaal, Singapore, and Vancouver attended the meeting in person. Representatives from Dubai, Hamburg, and New York attended virtually. The MSG meets regularly throughout the year to review fleet operations and performance; and evaluate progress on strategic goals and projects. With so many team members together in-person, the meetings also serve to build strong relationships between departments and offices that benefit the Registry’s global clientele.
Action items from the MSG meetings are evaluated at subsequent meetings, with interoffice teams working together on strategic goals and services to enhance client services and operations.
