IRI/The Marshall Islands Registry participated in Eagle Ship Management’s Senior Officers’ Seminar on 3 October 2019 in Odessa, Ukraine. These forums, part of the company’s safety management system and best management practices, aim to continually improve the culture of safety within the company. Captain Theodore Lalas, IRI Fleet Operations Manager presented on port State control (PSC) inspections focusing on deficiencies observed and the role of the flag State.
More than 85 front line shipboard and shoreside personnel attended the seminar including senior officers, engineers, and petty officers. Other topics included manning, scrubber basics, awareness by preparedness, technical issues, operational performance, compliance, and fleet management.
