IRI/The Marshall Islands Registry participated in Athens University’s School of Economics and Business “MSc in International Shipping, Finance and Management” program held on 11 April 2019. This program aims to bring graduate students and the Greek shipping industry together to give students the chance to learn from industry leaders to gain practical knowledge. Captain Theodore Lalas, IRI Fleet Operations Manager, presented on the role of the flag State in today’s shipping environment. Captain Lalas provided the students with regulatory information, background on international conventions, registration requirements, fleet operations, safety, manning and other aspects of international shipping. An energetic question and answer session followed his presentation.
