IRI’s 2024 Annual Yacht Meeting was held in Fort Lauderdale in late February. The Annual Yacht Meeting serves as a platform for the global yacht team and supportive departments to share information, address strategic goals and objectives, and update on innovative projects and trends within the Republic of the Marshall Island’s (RMI’s) Yacht program. Held in tandem with the first Maritime Services Group (MSG) meeting of the year, this year’s Annual Yacht Meeting involved team members from throughout IRI’s network of global offices and departments including: Baltimore / Annapolis, Fort Lauderdale, Geneva, Hamburg, Istanbul, London, Long Beach, New York, Monaco, Piraeus, Reston, and Roosendaal.
Patrick Bachofner, Worldwide Director, Yachts / Director, Geneva Office presented a yacht fleet overview highlighting registrations and key performance indicators. Alexander von Stein, Yachting Advisor presented a yacht market overview highlighting opportunities and trends in the yachting market across the world. Ionna Hernandez, Business Development Manager, Yachts; Marc Verburg, Director, Yacht Operations; and Diego Ramirez, General Manager presented on strategic goals and updated participants on ongoing projects and the team’s enhanced technical support and customer service for yacht clients. The meeting concluded with an outlook on the RMI Yacht Registry.
The RMI Yacht Registry maintains a strong reputation for outstanding customer service and personalized support. At the end of February 2024, 907 yachts, ranging from innovative expedition vessels to yachts with historical significance, were registered with the RMI. In 2023, the RMI yacht fleet grew by 18%, including many vessels that incorporate cutting-edge environmental and digital technology.
