Captain Amarjit Kauchhur

Captain Amarjit Singh Kauchhur joined IRI in February 2009 as Regional Manager and opened the Dubai office in April 2009. In 2010, he was promoted to Vice President (Middle East) and Regional Manager. Captain Kauchhur assumed the title of Vice President (Middle East) and Regional Director in 2023. The former Manager of Quality Assurance for International Tanker Management Ltd. Dubai, Captain Kauchhur spent more than 20 years at sea, sailing on tankers, bulkers, container and general cargo ships for The Shipping Corporation of India and Barber Ship Management. He was promoted to Master in 1990 while sailing VLCCs and then to Safety Officer in 1998. A native of New Delhi, India, Captain Kauchhur was educated at India’s Air Force Central School and attended college in Jalandar, Punjab, before choosing a career at sea. Captain Kauchhur is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
